What’s Happening in Stillwater: Events Today & What’s Coming Up

Hi Stillwater — Noah Olson here. If you’re looking for something to do today or planning ahead, here’s your guide to events happening now through October across our city.

Today’s Event Spotlight

There are no major public festivals today, but locals can still enjoy the rhythm of the week with Crusin’ On the Croix down by the riverfront. This weekly gathering happens today from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Expect classic cars, live music, food vendors and neighbors catching up in the sunshine. Don’t miss getting there early so you can stroll before the crowds swell.

Upcoming Highlights

  • Ride to End ALZ Minnesota – Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 19. A day-long ride benefiting Alzheimer’s research that starts early and winds through scenic Stillwater surroundings.
  • Stillwater Log Run – Also on Saturday, Sept. 19, enjoy a community race that includes runs of various distances. Great for all ages and fitness levels.
  • Community Watershed Celebration & Bird Festival – Mid-morning, Sept. 19. Nature lovers will appreciate local birdwatching, watershed education, and outdoor time by the water.
  • Rivertown Fall Art Festival – First weekend in October (Oct. 3–4). Over 200 artists, food vendors, and live music make this a downtown arts must-see.
  • Harvest Fest – Runs through much of October. Expect autumnal fun like pumpkin weigh-offs, live performances, and family-friendly activities throughout Lowell Park and nearby areas.
  • Murder Mystery Dinner Theater – Late September, spooky storytelling & interactive dinner theater at the Stillwater Event Center. Be sure to grab tickets in advance.

Tips for Making the Most of It

  1. Plan by categories: Focus on what you enjoy — art, nature, food, exercise — and check calendars by those labels.
  2. Watch the weather: Some events are outdoors; dress accordingly or check for cancellations.
  3. Ticketed vs. free: Community races and art festivals often have admission or registration. Even free events sometimes need online sign-ups.
  4. Go early: Spots like Lowell Park fill up fast for music, art shows, or riverfront strolls — early arrival means better access.

If there’s an event you’d like me to spotlight or something new you want to share, send an idea my way. I’ll be around — and so will Stillwater’s happening scene.
