Stillwater, Minnesota, is actively pursuing several community development initiatives aimed at enhancing the city’s infrastructure and quality of life for its residents.
New Community Development Director
In early 2026, Jason Zimmerman was appointed as the new Community Development Director. Zimmerman, who grew up on the west side of the Twin Cities, is enthusiastic about contributing to Stillwater’s growth. He is currently working on the Comprehensive Plan that will guide the city’s development efforts for the next two decades.
PFAS Treatment Facility at Well #10
To address concerns about per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the city’s water supply, construction is underway for a new PFAS treatment facility at Well #10. The project began in mid-September 2025 and is expected to be substantially complete by May 1, 2026. This facility aims to ensure the safety and quality of drinking water for Stillwater residents.
