Stillwater has been actively pursuing initiatives to enhance community development and infrastructure. A notable development is the appointment of Jason Zimmerman as the new Community Development Director. Zimmerman, who grew up on the west side of the Twin Cities, is enthusiastic about contributing to Stillwater’s growth. He is currently working on the Comprehensive Plan, which will guide the city’s development efforts for the next two decades.
In addition to leadership changes, the city is addressing infrastructure needs. Construction is underway for a new PFAS treatment facility at Well #10. This project aims to ensure the provision of safe drinking water to residents. The facility is expected to be operational by May 2026, with ongoing construction throughout the winter months.
These initiatives reflect Stillwater’s commitment to thoughtful growth and the well-being of its residents.
