St. Croix Preparatory Academy also provides a variety of sports opportunities, including basketball, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. The school’s focus on developing well-rounded individuals is reflected in its athletics program.
Community Sports Programs
Beyond the high schools, Stillwater offers several community-based sports programs:
- Stillwater Mountain Bike Team: Founded in 2013, this team has grown to over 90 student-athletes from grades 6-12. They compete under the Minnesota Cycling Association, emphasizing both competition and camaraderie.
- Chilkoot Velo: Since 2009, this group has been uniting cyclists of all skill levels for group rides, social events, and competitive challenges in the Greater Stillwater area.
- Limitless Cycling: An adaptive outdoor program dedicated to enhancing the well-being of individuals of all abilities by providing piloted adaptive bicycle and Action Trackchair® rides.
Recreational Facilities

- St. Croix Valley Recreation Center: A multi-purpose facility featuring a dome field house and two NHL-style ice sheets. It offers open skating, hockey, group skating lessons, and more.
- The LumberYard Hockey & Sports Center: A sports training and recreation destination offering programs for hockey, lacrosse, soccer, baseball, and other sports. The facility includes a studio ice rink, fieldhouse, gym, and retail sporting goods store.
