Stillwater’s Community Development: A Look at Recent Initiatives

Stillwater has been actively pursuing initiatives to enhance community development and infrastructure. A notable development is the appointment of Jason Zimmerman as the new Community Development Director. Zimmerman, who grew up on the west side of the Twin Cities, is enthusiastic about contributing to Stillwater’s growth and is currently working on the Comprehensive Plan that will guide the city’s development for the next two decades.

In addition to leadership changes, the city is addressing infrastructure needs. Construction is underway for a new PFAS treatment facility at Well #10, aimed at ensuring the safety and quality of the city’s drinking water. The project is progressing with the goal of being operational by spring 2026.

These efforts reflect Stillwater’s commitment to thoughtful growth and the well-being of its residents.
